Police Nab Trio Over Business Robberies

The Police in Limpopo and Mpumalanga have arrested three suspects during an intelligence-driven operation in Kanyamazane Township, Mpumalanga, on Thursday, 2 October 2025. The suspects, aged between 39 and 42, were linked to a spate of business robberies in the Polokwane Central Business District.

The robberies, which occurred on 10 August, 16 August and 2 September 2025, targeted several stores. Large quantities of clothing and cellphones were stolen in each incident.

In response, a dedicated team was formed, comprising members from the Limpopo Provincial Investigations Unit and the Limpopo Tracking Team. Their efforts were later bolstered by the Mpumalanga Tracking Team, which joined the operation to trace and arrest the perpetrators.

During the arrests in Kanyamazane, police recovered stolen property worth an estimated R150 000. The recovered goods included items taken during the Polokwane robberies.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Kanyamazane Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 3 October 2025, facing charges of possession of suspected stolen property. They will then be transported to Polokwane, where they are scheduled to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 6 October 2025. There, they will face three counts of business robbery.
