DA Gives President Dossier to Act Against Deputy

The DA has turned up the heat on President Cyril Ramaphosa, delivering a dossier of corruption allegations against Deputy President Paul Mashatile.

Party leader John Steenhuisen visited the Union Buildings Wednesday to submit the file. It supposedly details questionable ties between Mashatile and businessmen who scored state contracts.

Steenhuisen warned that if Ramaphosa fails to act in a week, the DA will file charges against Mashatile themselves.

“The president can no longer claim ignorance,” he stated. “This is a state capture scheme under his watch.”

The move follows News24’s report last year on Mashatile’s alleged corruption. The DA says Ramaphosa’s inaction makes him complicit.

Steenhuisen called it the start of a “sustained campaign” to hold both men accountable. The party hopes the dossier will compel action from the president.

But if Ramaphosa still does nothing, the DA vows to take the law into its own hands. For Mashatile, the corruption claims aren’t going away quietly.
