Breyten Police Appeal for Help After Suspected Hit-and-Run

Police in Breyten are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a man who died in a suspected hit-and-run on the N11 between Ermelo and Hendrina on 26 June 2026.

The man was found lying on the road near the Breyten turn-off at about 19:30. He was wearing a black jersey, grey track pants and white Adidas takkies. EMS certified him dead at the scene.

Police believe he may have been struck by a vehicle whose driver failed to stop. Anyone who can help identify the deceased or provide information about the incident is urged to contact the detectives on 078 431 7312 or 079 891 4846.

Mpumalanga Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Apaphia Modise has urged the community to assist police in bringing the driver to justice.
