University of Mpumalanga Abolishes Application Fees to Ease Financial Burden on Students

The University of Mpumalanga has announced that it will abolish application fees from 2027, making it easier for prospective students, particularly those from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, to apply for admission.
The decision comes as approximately 85% of the university’s student population receives funding from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), highlighting the financial challenges faced by many students.
By removing application fees, the institution aims to reduce financial barriers and ensure that more matriculants have an opportunity to pursue higher education without the added burden of application costs.
